Instead of starting with the main focus of the painting I decided to start by making some background textures on my canvas with printing techniques to suggest floorboards, tiles and wall paper. I've been inspired by some other painters who have used pattern and actual wall paper in their backgrounds e.g. Picasso!
I then combined the ones that I liked into a finished painting with table, jug and flowers.
Any feedback? I used Prussian blue and wondered if it was too dark or if I should add more objects to the table?
